After scouring the internet to find an affordable machine or better yet someone making their own seed cleaner for cheap we found some plans. Is this machine truly suited for small scale quinoa growers? We're not sure yet. Some experimenting is in order.

So the seed cleaner has been useful for quinoa. I think for our needs (we harvested 40lbs of cleaned quinoa from some 1/3 acre of plants) we'd like to build something that is more efficient in its ability to separate quinoa from other matter and in its ability to do the job faster. It took several hours with this machine... Any ideas on an affordable machine with larger processing capabilities?

Hi, question for you: Does this seed cleaner just remove chaff (plant material etc) from the seeds, or does it also abraid/remove the saponin-containing bitter seed coats? I am looking for a small scale way to remove bitter seedcoats and wondering if this machine helps with that too. Or are you washing your quinoa somehow after separating the chaff? Thanks!
